Ruminating

While digging through my writings, I found my first formal poem for a college poetry class. It was meant as a way to introduce ourselves.

I’m finding great joy in ruminating through my past.

Simply Katarina

I am Katarina I am not Katarina Witt the famous German figure skater  I am not Zoe Saldana   I am The Great Gatsby  I am Summertime in Paris  I am an amazing Doner Kebab from Germany  I am the aspiring DJ who mixes until 3 AM   I am the studious student scrambling through Senior year I’ve analyzed companies and filled out your tax returns   I know financial statements better than I know how to read. I once found a bright steady light within myself  I held on tight and never let the light go dim  I once lost my best friend  I accepted the difference in life paths.

I am Bergenfield, NJ. I am Tinker Bell in Berlin. I am pastel yellow. I am Satin. I am Katarina Felix.
