The Search
Taken in Chinatown, New York
I see you searching
but what is it that you are trying to find
Is it the one you dropped years ago
or is she not worthy of your time
The anxiety stays present
and your heart feels heavy
I guess pain never escapes the chest
Drowning and separating,
leaving behind everything you knew
Questioning every decision
as if your life depended on it
How will you ever know what’s right in front of you,
if you never stop jumping to what’s next
What’s next essentially always comes
with little regard to your endless thoughts
It’s a pity you can’t appreciate the present
It is all you have
So stop the search.
Because you have no idea
what it is you are searching for
